The Agachajanapada was a post-Mauryan tribal republic in the eastern Punjab, with its capital at the ancient site of Agrodaka (modern-day Agroha). This city can be identified as Aggalapura, mentioned in the Vinayapitaka as lying on the great trade route that connected the Ganga valley with Taxila. This janapada was the precursors of the prominent Agrawal merchant clan of northern India. All coins of the Agachajanapada are rare.
