Kamalesvara Simha: After the death of Gaurinatha Simha, one of his descendents, Kamalesvara, was placed on the throne by the all-powerful Burha Gohain. The three Gohains were very important councillors of state, little inferior to the king in rank. Although Kamalesvara began his reign in Sk. 1717 (AD 1795), no coins in his name are known in his name until Sk. 1720 (AD 1798) and even these are all very rare. It seems as though hardly any coins were struck in Assam throughout the whole of KamaleSvara's reign, unless coins continued to be struck posthumously in the name of Gaurinatha Simha.
