Assam, Octagonal Silver 1/32 Rupee, 0.28g, Chandrakanta Simha (1819-1821), undated, Assamese legends in two lines, Obv: Sri Cha/ndra, Rev: kanta/ sya. Reverse die perfectly struck at 6 o'clock. Later Chandrakanta Simha was dissatisfied with being a Burmese puppet and fled to British territory from where he made a number of unsuccessful raids against the Burmese. When the Burmese failed to coax Chandrakanta back to Assam, they replace him with an Ahom prince of uncertain ancestory, by name of JogeSvara Simha. Very few coins of Jogesvara Simha are known.
