Assam, Octagonal Silver Rupee, 11.27g, Siva Simha citing Queen Pramathesvari, Sk. 1648, Obv: in four lines: Sri Sri Hara/ Gauri Pada Pa/rayanayah/ Sake 1648, lion with tail down at bottom running to right, Rev: in four lines: Sri Sri Siva/ Simha Nrpa Mahi/si Sri Pramathesva/ri Devyah. Reverse die perfectly struck at 6 o'clock. Ex Nicholas Rhodes Collection. (A.Mitra. 88, RB. I 15.1). Almost Mint State, Very Scarce.
In AD 1726 (Sk. 1648), Queen PhuleSvari changed her name to PramatheSvari, another name for Parvati, the consort of Siva. And coins were struck with the new name from that year, though, oddly, there are a couple of years when coins were struck in either name.
