Assam, Octagonal Silver Rupee, 12.36g (Heavy Weight), Chakradhvaja Simha (Siu-pung-mung) (1663-70 AD), Ahom legends on both sides within a double linear border with beads, dated the 15th year (of the 60 year cycle), Obv: in four lines: Kao/ boi pha/ Ta-ra/ heu chiu, Rev: in five lines: Chao pha/ Siu-pung-mu/ng pin chan/ Lak-ni/ plek-ngi, Spiky lunette at bottom left & right. Reverse die perfectly struck at 12 o'clock. (A.Mitra. 11 type, RB. Unlisted). Mint State, Extremely Rare.
The legends can be translated as: I offer a prayer in the name of heavenly Tara / The god Siu-pung-mung became king in the 15th year (of the 60 year cycle) = 1663.
