Issuing coins in commemoration of military conquest or on auspicious occasions has traditionally bsen a strong practice in Tripura Coinage. Almost in every coin of Tripura Kingdom there is a political history. "Suvarnagram Vijoyee" coin is one of such examples. During the reign of Pratap Manikya, the Muslim rulers of Bengal targeted Eastern part of Bangla. They left Samatat and settled in Subarnagram(1323AD). In 1338 AD Malik Fakir Uddin, taking the title 'Sultan Sekandar' raised Free-Flag in Bangla. His throne was Setup at Subarnagram. Therefore it was easier to attack Tripura from Subarnagram. In 1347 A.D., Pathan Sultan Samsuddin Abu Muzaffar Ilias Shah attacked Tripura, defeated Pratap Manikya and captured Chattogram. Later on Dhanya Manikya recaptured Chattogram. After the dismissal of Dhanya Manikya, Deva Manikya become the king and during his reign, he first captured Bhulua and thereafter he conquered Suvarnagram from Bengal sultan Hussain Shah in 1528 A.D. In this eve of victory over "Suvarnagram", he issued this beautiful coin with the name of Queen Padmavatyau to commemorate the Victory.
