Kalyana Manikya was not of Royal descent but was appointed King by the Nobles. Mughal invasions of Tripura took place in 1618 after the long gap of Eight Years coins were reintroduced by Kalyana Manikya. It has been observed that from Kalyan Manikya’s era fraction coins were introduced.
