Note: In fabric, it is apparently much like the Bari paisa illustrated below. The mint name is the only legend on this coin. There is no direct evidence on the coin as to when it was struck, or under whose authority. Sharifganj has not been located so far, and may well be a temporary name given to an existing town by Sharaf Muhammad Khan, or by his son Wazir, in honour of his father. Possibly it is or was near to Sehore or Ashta, although it has also been suggested that it was probably near Bhopal itself. Refer ONS journal 195 by Barry Tabor.
