Post Gupta, Eastern Bengal, Samatata Region, Gold, 5.71g, 19.24x19.71mm, (c.640-655 AD), This rare debased gold coin imitating Gupta design, Obv: Sri Kumara is written to the right, below the arm of the king ( Some historians identified Sri Kumara with Bhaskarvarman of Assam of the same period. It is known that the Assam king had occupied Samatata). King standing to left holding a bow in his left arm, standard with a conch shell, a chakra or wheel in between conch shell and the king’s head, Rev: Goddess standing to right, holding an object in her hand, crude legend on the right field.
