Parthian Kingdom, Orodes II, Ca. 57-38 BC, Silver Tetradrachm, Seleukeia on Tigris, Diademed and draped bust of Orodes left, wearing neck torque ending in sear horse and elaborate robe embroidered with pearls and griffin/Orodes seated left, holding Nike, who crowns him with wreath, and scepter. Sellwood 48.1; Shore 212; Sunrise 375. Well struck on a nice flan. Couple of ancient graffiti on the obverse field. about Extremely Fine / Very Fine. Lightly toned. Very Fine+, Rare. |
