Abhiras, Isvaradatta(242-243 AD), Year One, Silver Dramma, 2.34 gm, Obv: Bust of king to right, Corrupt Greek legend around, Rev: Three arched hill (Chaitya) with crescent on top, flanked by sun and moon, wavy line below, Brahmi legend around reading ‘Rajno Mahkshtrapasa Ishvaradattasa Varshe Prathame’, Dotted border around. Isvaradatta, an Abhira, was the usurper to the Kardamaka throne for a short period. Ref: Fishman 24. Very Fine, Very Scarce. |
