Chandellas, Jejakabhukti (Bundelkhand), Paramardi Varman, 1165/7 - 1202/3 CE, 4-1/2 Masha / Masaka (Dinar/Unit), Gold, 4.18 gm, 19.18x19.20mm, (one of the higher weight specimens, usually they're all below 4 grams & slightly smaller flan, this one's with a wide flan, heavy weight specimen for this ruler), Obv: Four-armed Goddess Lakshmi seated facing, cross-legged, Rev: Devanagari legend in three lines: ShriMaT-Pa /RaMaRDDi / AiJaVa [AiHaVa?] seen in-full on-flan. Mitchiner #408. Extremely Fine+, uncleaned, toned & in its natural state of preservation. Rare as per type that's with three lines instead of the usual two for this ruler. |
