Patiala, Silver Rupee, 10.94g, Ajit Singh, (CA. 1845) (Sahrind mint), (refer SS204D & 207 types), Scimitar as personal mark of Ajit Singh issues Along with State Symbol,who claimed the throne after the death of his father in 1813 AD, but surrendered to his brother Karam Singh soon afterwards. This Rare type has been assigned to both Sahib Singh (SS-204D type) & his son Karam Singh (SS-207 type), but now has been acknowledged to Ajit Singh, Son of Sahib Singh & brother of Karam Singh. This is confirmed by Issues dated AH 1227 ( Listed by Saran Singh as 1225 & 1228) (#244306), Characterised by Scimitar mark, About Extremely Fine, Scarce. |
