| Guptas, Kumaragupta I, silver drachma, 1.91gm, Obv: Head of king right with double crescent at crest, Rev: Stylized Garuda standing facing, with wings spread, sun above right, Brahmi legend around Paramabhagavata Maharajadhiraja Sri Kumaragupta Mahendraditya, the sun and moon present on all Kshatrapa coins makes a reappearance. The representation of Garuda is quite different; also notice the elegant calligraphy of the legend. |
