Obv: Sri Sri Danuja Marddana Deva, Rev: Sri Chandi charana parayana. G&G B315. Chisel marks, Fine, Extremely Rare. Danujamarddana Deva, the personality of this strange Hindu king of Bengal stands out in brilliant prominence in the history of this period. One thirsts in vain to know more about this hero of the old days who broke the domination of Muhammadan line of kings for however a shorter period. He is the first ruler who issued coins in Bengali script and language and they are dated in Saka era. |
