Madras Presidency, Silver Half Pagoda, 20.86gm, 1807 AD (First issue), Obv: Nine Tired Gopuram of temple wither ways of it 14 stars on each side surrounded by ribbon ending with star with value in English and Persian. Rev: Lord Vishnu holding a sword in his left hand with three dotted circular border and a small lotus flower Around this is the value in tamil and telugu. In Persian it reads as Nim hun Phuli which means half a flower or star, pagoda, in tamil it was read as Arai Puvarakan and in telugu it is read as ara pu vara hun. Struck centrally with superb dies. very seldom offered this grade. Almost Uncirculated. F.Prid. 152, Extremely Rare. |
