Medieval Gujarat, anonymous copper coin, most likely an issue of Saranga Deva of Vaghela dynasty (1274-1297 AD), 1.28g, 11 x 11mm, Obv: Nagari letter Sa. Rev: Nagari letter Shri. Although the attribution to Saranga Deva is tentative, there appears to be no other ruler with name beginning with 'Sa' apart from him, in the time frame suggested by the style of letters and the provenance of the coin. Very Fine, Rare. |
