Baroda, Silver Rupee, 11.36gm, Sankheda Mint, partly date visible on top of obverse, in the name of Shah Alam II, date seen but unclear, Sword mint mark, partly mint seen. KM Unlisted. Extra Fine, Rare. There was evidence that a mint was operated as Sankheda by two goldsmiths namely Jassa Soni and Kaka Soni during (1790-1810 AD). These coins must therefore be attributed to Govind Rao Gaikwad (2nd reign) or Manaji Rao Gaikwad as regent for Sayaji Rao I Gaikwad. |
